A little credit where it’s due.

The playable bottle chimes, sweet jar and band tip jar use meshes by NVIDIA from the NVIDIA SimReady Assets collection, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International.

Changes: USD assemblies converted to GLB in Blender, component transforms preserved, geometry simplified and normalized, and original materials replaced with candy colours. Original simulation physics and textures are omitted. The jar lid remains a separate moving part.

The people on our pier

Human meshes, eyes, hair, teeth and clothing are adapted from MakeHuman Community’s MPFB and its core system assets, released under CC0. Character proportions, pastel wardrobes, fitted dress, rig poses and gameplay integration were adapted for this date in Blender and Three.js.

The character behaviour and the carnival’s other playful objects are original work for this birthday game.

The sky on your birthday

Star positions are adapted from David Nash’s HYG Database v4.1, CC BY-SA 4.0. We filtered bright stars, applied proper motion and precession, and calculated their positions above the horizon for the chosen Baltimore reference time. The derived sky data is shared under CC BY-SA 4.0.

Constellation lines are adapted from d3-celestial under the BSD 3-Clause license. Sky coordinates were calculated with Astronomy Engine, MIT licensed.

The enlarged Sun uses a SOHO/MDI continuum image from 1 November 1999 at 17:36 UTC, earlier than the chosen sunset reference. Courtesy of SOHO/MDI consortium. SOHO is a project of international cooperation between ESA and NASA.

The moving sunset clouds are rendered from a world-space 3D density field with volumetric light attenuation. Their weather is artistic and separate from the historical star catalogue.

Abhi’s companion is a generic CC0 MPFB character with a fair warm complexion and project-authored styling. The active companion uses the MakeHuman CC0 young Asian male skin texture; it does not use the creator’s facial reference.
